South Central will participate in its 2nd Academy season in 2008-09. Home games will continue to be played at the University of Bridgeport. The U15/16 team will play at 11:00 am and the U17/18 team will play at 1:00 for most home games.
A complete schedule can be found on http://ussda.demosphere.com/. This website will also have the team rosters listed and other information about all of the Academy teams.
All Academy teams will be participating in the SPARQ testing again this year. Each player will be tested 2 times, once at each of the Showcases. This will help the players, coaches and the Academy to see how the players are progressing throughout the year. Teams are meeting with certified SPARQ trainers to get measured for height, weight and to complete the beep test. The other 3 components – agility, speed and vertical jump – will be assessed at the Showcases on the teams’ day off.
